Day 31- Kakadu- Ubirr and Merl

Updated: Aug 4

Made a move early to get to Cahill crossing for high tide. Epic drive there with the sunrise crossing the numerous creeks surrounded by lush green wetlands. Got to the crossing, not a lot of activity until about 20 minutes after high tide as it was turning. After that there was a good 20 crocs. Many coming on the banks to show off. Next off to Ubirr art sites. The rock art here was amazing not only for how well it was preserved but there was an abundance of it highly concentrated along certain areas. There was a great line of art work where hunters had recorded their proud catches of many years. Up to the lookout for a 360 degree view, Arnhem plateau to the east flood plains in front of you and rocky outcrops behind. Came up here again for sunset later in the day. Sat around the camp fire chatting with the rangers, had a shower and noodles and went to bed.
