Day 35- Gunn point to Darwin
Woke up and the tide had brought water levels nearly up to the car, when I went to bed the beach was a good 50m. Headed into Darwin in the morning. Took some time getting used to all the bloody traffic again. Spent the start of the day shopping for some things. Earphones, cables, travel mug, water bottles. Odd bits and bobs broken along the way. Then headed into town centre. Went to the world war 2 oil storage tunnels. Very cool to walk through the underground museum and learn the story of the tanks. A lot of money was spent on them during world war 2 and they were always plagued with issues and were rarely operational. Walked up to survivors lookout, the Supreme Court and Parliament House. Back down the hill to the water front precinct. Sorta Darwin’s Elizabeth quay. It was very nice. Had some pints and a burger and an Irish bar- fiddlers green. Burger average, beer great. Headed to my hip camp 30 minutes from cbd. Pizza for dinner.
